The sessions of the conference will be delineated on the basis of the abstracts that will be received. Potential themes may include the following:
1st July 2024: On the evening of the first day, an ice-breaker party with drinks and food will be organised at the conference venue. The cost is covered by the conference fee.
3rd July 2024: A workshop will be organised in the afternoon to encourage exchange of ideas between industry representatives and scientists/students, and to identify industry needs for the future.
3rd July 2024: On the last evening of the conference, participants can join a boat field trip around Stromboli for a maximum of 100 people.
The trip includes a stop before sunset for a swim and a simple dinner on board (maccheronata).
We recommend light clothing for the afternoon, sunglasses, sun cream, a towel and a swimming suit, but also a wind jacket or a sweatshirt, as it may get cool in the evenings at sea.
Departure is scheduled for 4:30 pm from the port of Lipari and return is expected between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The cost of the conference party is €60 and must be paid before 15 June via bank transfer. Participants who selected the option to attend the conference party during the registration process will receive bank details and further information by e-mail.
30th June 2024:
The field trip, led by Prof. Daniele Casalbore (University of Roma La Sapienza) and Prof. Claudia Romagnoli (University of Bologna) for a maximum of 60 people, will take place on a local boat, sailing around Lipari and off the northern sector of the island of Vulcano.
The programme includes several stops to illustrate the main geological formations and volcanic landforms that typify the coasts of Lipari island and the northern part of Vulcano. At the end of the excursion there will be a final stop in Porticello for a swim!
We recommend light clothing, sunglasses, sun cream, and to bring a swimming suit and a towel.
Departure is scheduled for around 11 a.m. from the port of Lipari and return is expected between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Each participant will need to bring their own packed lunch and water.
The cost of the field trip is €40 and must be paid before 15 June via bank transfer.
Participants who selected the option to attend the pre-conference field trip during the registration process will receive bank details and further information by e-mail.
